Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.3/100, a mean average of 72.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.9.

A terrific return to form in what is a kind of soundtrack. I have to admit I've never seen the film it accompanies, but the songs are wonderful, real classic Suede in many ways. No Tomorrow, I Don't Know How To Reach You and I Can't Give Her What She Wants are wonderful, camp, swirling Suede gold.
One of the best albums of the decade. It soars in the typical style of Suede, and it's great to be hearing them in top form even after all these years.
Not as good as, bloodsports, but it shows that there's still plenty in the tank as far as Suede are concerned. Still, not their best, but it'll do for now.
It's lush and seductive, just as with their eponymous debut. And Brett Anderson's vocals are as strong as ever.
The best album since OK computer
Something of a return to the glory days with Anderson sounding like he's put the dalliances of everything that happened since Dog Man Star behind him.
BEST ALBUM OF THIS YEAR SO FAR
The lyrics are awful and the instrumentals aren't much better.
This is so good, it feels like they never lost their talent
This album is okay and not really original. I don't see a little something that could distinguish this album of a tonne of alternative rock albums released in this decade.
