I find it difficult to put my finger on why I dislike this one so much. I read an interview with Anthony Gonzales at the time of its release and he seemed cynical, bitter, jaded. It strikes me that those feeling shine through on this album. After so many beautiful, emotionally affecting records, Junk just seems to come from a really bad place. I found the whole record really offputting.

Definitely different for them but I love it! 70s funk/cheesy pop rock with an M83 twist. Don't understand the hate. This album is fun as hell and you're never really sure what your in for, each track is a surprise.

Nice crossover of ‘70s disco sound with modern electropop. But after the first few tracks the quality falls down rather sharply.

Refreshing to hear new music (that sounds fresh) made with the homey, nostalgic 70s sound. Some of these songs are fantastic, some forgettable, but overall a successful experiment.
It's not bad, just... I don't know. Maybe the boring is the right word for it. Anyway, the production is great.

A pleasantly nostalgic album. Not his best, but certainly worthy of the M83 back-catalogue. Not at all disappointed.
