Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.4/100, a mean average of 74.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

A fun, ambitious and complex album that deserves more love!
This album is far superior than their debut. There are far more complex and explorable songs on here such as Siberian Breaks which is possibly their best ever track. The album also feels a lot more compact and together and flows a bit better than the first release. However, it still has its flaws such as that one track which stands out as being very weak and at times it can lack substance and feel a bit empty. There are also a few tracks that are a little closer to average and feel a bit like filler which is worrying on quite a short record. Despite this, their sound is much more refined and they consistently maintain a style throughout whilst keeping every song different and unique. Overall, I am looking forward to listening to this record again as it is thoroughly enjoyable and possesses a lot of quality.
This is definitely a record that needs to be listened to multiple times. The songs didn't really stick with me all that well the first time I heard, but now Congratulations is always in my car. I love pretty much every song on here, even Lady Dada's Nightmare. Siberian Breaks and the title track are going to be remembered as some of their best songs for a long time.
I love their electronic hippy sound - almost glam rock for the noughties. Picked this album up through hearing their magnificent Oracular Spectacular. Flash Delirium is such a complicated construction - almost like a medley - but is brilliant
One of the more underrated albums, I think it's great and one of the better 2010's albums so far.. Please give a listen or two if you haven't!
A fantastic follow up to their debut, and definitely on par with it in my opinion. Two of my favourite albums.
Siberian breaks and Congratulations are obvious highlights as well as I Found a Whistle and It's Working.
Ok, but Congratulations is great song and the only song that stuck with me
A heavily underrated record that I fear is only appreciated by those who already have a tendency toward the 00s indie sound(specifically MGMT). Their first was break though but this record has a lot more bite. Its incredibly weird and quirky, but also amazing tracks. "Its Working" is a super cool opener, "I Found a Whistle" is absolutely sublime(damn near perfect imo), but the true take away is "Siberian Breaks". "Siberian Breaks" is a masterpiece, one of the best songs of the decade, and definitely the best MGMT track hands down. Give this album a real chance, you'll be blown away
An instant classic in my opinion. The higher points are really high, being Siberian Breaks the stand out moment in an album that is as much quirky as it is touching. It is indeed underrated, maybe because it followed up the indie-pop gem that Oracular Spactacular is. But as an isolated work of art, it is undoubtedly a classic.
Admirable 2nd album that demonstrates there's more to the boys than Kids and Time to Pretend. Here MGMT's brand of psychotic psychedelia takes a more malevolently demented detour down the avenue 'avant-garde' and is all the better for it.
