From contra
First MGMT album I've listened through but I've listened to their main three singles a lot - however, I really dig the other songs. I never listen to synthpop so this album might be pretty basic for the genre (I wouldn't know) but really liked it for what it was.

Favourite tracks: Weekend War, Electric Feel

Side A is fantastic, especially when you compare it to the Side B... How did that happen?

Three solid gold hits (Time to Pretend, Kids, Electric Feel) and the rest not really up to half the standard. Especially toward the end of the album. Thankfully they went on to make better and more consistent albums.

A perfect debut album with two irresistible songs and the stunning production by Dave Friedmann.
Sadly after this record, only poor music...

How come I had never heard this. I really loved Little Dark Age, but as far as other MGMT releases I only knew "the three classics" but the whole album is just amazing. It has some amazing psychedelic moments and great melodies overall.

Favorite ones (excluding "the three"): "Of Moons, Birds & Monsters", "The Youth", "Weekend Wars"

Great album! It reminded me of the good King Gizzard albums.

A extremely well made electronica album that imagines fame through a childish perspective.

Absolutely love this album. At first I only liked the first half, but as I listened more I realized the second half was actually outstanding. I come back to this album on a consistent basis, and it is one of my all time favorites.

Favorite Tracks: The Handshake, Pieces of What, Time to Pretend, Electric Feel
