Alt-J is fantastic by its originality, beautiful sound, atmospheric music, and great lyrics despite what people say(except maybe in RELAXER).

Their debut album is an absolute masterpiece, very underrated on this site. I like also the conceptual This Is All Yours and the controversial RELAXER, the last one receiving to much hate in my humble opinion.

They have plenty of great tracks : Dissolve Me, Fitzpleasure, 3WW, Tesselate, In Cold Blood, Every Other Freckle and the classic Breezeblocks. My favourite song is Taro. I love especially the intro and the magic sound in the chorus, but the lyrics are meaningful as well: it is about Robert Capa, a war photographer.

Alt-J is probably in my top five bands of the 2010s, but thats just an opinion ;)

I have no idea why so many people seem to have a Problem with the singers voice. It is so relaxing. One of my favourite bands for sure. But don't ever look up the lyrics...

Interesting, sometimes very good songs but awful vocals. Well, if I could ignore the vocals I'd like them so much more

Fantastic music. So many of their songs are incredibly varied. My vote for band of the decade based on two albums.

This is probably one of the most original bands I've ever heard. No one sounds anything like them. An Awesome Wave was really good, but their follow up was not so much. Hopefully they put out a good third album.

This band grows in my estimation, with every new listen.

They definitely have a lot of talent, and some of their songs are really good, but I think I'd like them a lot more if the singer had a voice less...grating. They also have quite a few songs that are just boring. But they do have 4 or 5 songs per album that are very much worth listening
