An excellent example of symphonic metal, although there can be a bit of sameness over the course of an album. They've had multiple lead singers, but they're all possessed of outstanding voices.
Definitely an acquired taste and some of the music can drag but some of their better songs are downright compelling.
Anette and Nightwish have unfortunately parted ways. Floor Jansen is to be their third singer. This could be quite intriguing. However, Anette will be greatly missed; Imaginaerum showcased a vocalist coming into her own. She's been improving considerably, and the band had great live chemistry, but this was quite the curveball.
I just saw these guys live and they are one of the best live bands out there right now. I was extremely impressed, and the billing (Kamelot/Nightwish) as a whole might've been in the top 3 or top 2 concerts I've ever been to. Highly recommended.

I like them...the old singer Tarja is gone, but the new chick is just as good. Orchestral Metal is what it is.
