Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 81.0/100, a mean average of 78.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.0/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 19.6.

Fugazi is a seminal American post-hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1987. They are widely revered not just for their music, but for their strict adherence to a DIY (Do It Yourself) ethics, which redefined the independent music scene.
Key Facts
The Lineup: Ian MacKaye (vocals/guitar), Guy Picciotto (vocals/guitar), Joe Lally (bass), and Brendan Canty (drums).
The Sound: A unique blend of hardcore punk energy, art-rock experimentation, and dub/reggae rhythms.
The Ethics: They famously kept concert tickets at $5 and CDs at $10 for years, refused to sell merchandise like t-shirts, and only played all-ages shows.
The Label: They operated through Dischord Records, an independent label co-founded by MacKaye.
The best band of the 90s.

Easily the greatest 90's band
Repeater is obviously great, however everything other than End Hits is really special. A terrific band that more people should know about.
Repeater is an underated 90s gem.
Underated band... and Red Machine is underated within their catelogue. Great stuff.
Great 90s post hardcore band
Second only to Pavement for best band of the 90s, but only by the slimmest of margins. The last great punk band.
