"I used to own this album back in the day as a kid who listened to hair metal. I don't think I played it much as I don't remember too much about it, maybe the odd thing, bringing on the headache and the great instrumental track. It does sound decent now though, a good nwobhm record, I guess I woul..."  [+]  Reply

"The first two songs are the best by far here. 'Fear is a Man's Best Friend' is like a ship going down in the sea of misery and everyone just likes to sing along. Most artists thesedays who would have wrote a song with that title would have made it a plodding acoustic guitar whimper piece. Here it..."  [+]  Reply

"Saw them live at Massey Hall in 1974 and it was scary great. This album is a pale imitation of the real thing but it's all we have. Imagine what Hawkwind could have done if they had Radiohead's 21st century technology! :D"  Reply

"Just a smidge top heavy, but otherwise, one of the most wonderful albums of the year. Smooth, catchy, and full of life. Not to mention one of the most well-written and heartfelt R&B records in a while."  Reply

"One of the things that makes this Swedish Americana album such a special project is the honesty that sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg bring to their status as musical and geographical outsiders. "Peter Hammill is another unrecognised English musical genius. Perhaps the first to recognise that the voice is another instrument to experiment with. Still Life just resonates with pain, wonder, melancholy and hope. No weak songs, but the title track and Childhood's end are masterpieces."  Reply

"I'm not much of a hip-hop fan, but this album had me straight up addicted for a long time. I'd listened to aseop in highschool during the "none shall pass" era, but stopped for years. When I looked him up and found this newest album I was blown away by how someone I thought had perfected his craf..."  [+]  Reply

"Hey, so I have not listened to the album yet. And I am sure it would be worth my time. But I have to ask two questions (1) Are all these songs really BEA 90+ quality or has a little magic happened here? (2) Is this album anything like Benji by Sun Kil Moon?"  Reply

"Hot Chip put themselves on the indie pop dance-floor map with "and i was a boy from school" mining the darker aspects of electronic music on "the warning" by being more focused, all while being more pop friendly. It certainly shows in that track as well as "over and over" and "no fit state""  Reply
