There's a little something in what The Wallflowers do that piques my interest a tiny notch higher. I like them a lot and enjoy listening to the lyrics and music they make as a band. Bringing Down The Horse is still residing contentedly within my top 100 albums of all time.

As unremarkable as it was, I enjoyed Bringing Down the Horse.
Bringing Down The Horse wasn't very enjoyable. gtroda may be right though as they did get very big.
The Wallflowers make good straight forward heartland rock a la Tom Petty or the Counting Crows. Their second album was so huge that they could never recapture that glory but they do have some other worthwhile albums. Their 3rd and 4th albums were arguably better than the more popular second.
