Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 58.2/100, a mean average of 53.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 53.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.0.

The biggest offense The Weirdness commits is the sense of bore that it drills into you for the longest 40 minutes you'll ever experience. The drums really don't help. The beat is never not on a crash cymbal. The crash is typically used as an accent, an emphasis. It gets really tiring to listen to it over and over and over. And even though the longest song doesn't even break the four and a half minute mark, every single song feels excruciatingly long. What a disappointing follow up that really had no reason to even be conceived. Why try to make a new album when your first three are considered some of the best punk/proto-punk/hard rock records of all time??? No one expected The Stooges to release an album 34 YEARS after their amazing Raw Power. Just... why even bother?
