What a weird and wonderful album! Don't be deterred by the concept, or the numbers of tracks and their crazy names. Half the songs (generally the ones with long titles) are short, instrumental interludes. The core of the album is roughly a dozen proper songs, many of which are simply amazing. The entire thing is such a beautiful collection. I love the journey this album takes me on.

This is an alt-country guy kinda sorta going full country, albeit old school country. It's maybe a little dark to make it all the way there, but I really like the sound and overall feeling of this record.

This album, specifically the song "Engine Driver," is what got me into this band. It has several great tracks and was their most consistent album to date. I do prefer The Crane Wife and the Hazards of Love, but I think this is the strongest of their "classic" style.

Robyn's booty-bass debut was something of a guilty pleasure, but I am shameless in my adoration for this album. It is so good, it makes me wonder why we even try to compete with Sweden in the pop market.

Compared to the debut, this feels more like a band that's found its sound. There's also a notable jump in songwriting skill from Jill Andrews who claims all the real high points on this record.
