Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 4% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 79.1/100, a mean average of 78.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.6/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 17.7.

A woman who wears her heart on her sleeve in the best and most beautiful of ways
If she's good enough for Officer Barbrady, then she's good enough for me!!
Fiona Apple = "Force Of Nature" ... and then some!

From her jazz pop origins to the baroque version of it blurred by dissonant chords and stretched vocals she moved closer to with every release, her music sounds like a shot in the dark from a point of view of the genres she incorporates into her jazz - electronic, pop, rock; perhaps this is genius shit for people who are into jazz, but it sounds like she just mixed it with some modern genres. If that's the best jazz can bring to the table today, then I'd recommend its fans to move on and realize it's even deader than its cousin rock 'n' roll. The classics are still here because of our sound recording technology, so no reason to be sad, but realize the world has moved on; jazz is not hot anymore (now that's controversial). This is however not the usual reaction of out-of-touch critics. To young people I'd like to say: No, you're not smarter or better for liking everything the internet says is good and hating on everything that's on the charts.
This is the type of shit that makes me wanna listen to Lil Uzi rhyme "bitch" with "bitch" afterwards just to wash the fake depth with some real shallowness.
By the way, gotta love the internet in 2012:
" "I wanna stalk her": 4 upvotes", just hilarious.
It is amazing to think that this album is not even her best, absolutely stunning

I actually want to revisit my comment. I'm still equally impressed by her as an artist, and I love her work. However, I recognize how stupid it was of me to view her as a sex object. I can respect a female artist and enjoy her work without just looking her in that way.

She's a tremendous talent. I don't mind that her output is so limited if she keeps bringing such consistent quality to every single one of her releases.
The rankings of her albums affirm that with only 4 releases she is one of the most consistently great artists. An important influence particularly in 90s alternative music along with Alanis, Tori, P.J. and Bjork.
One of my favorites
SHE IS AMERICAN! NOT BRITISH
