I just realized sth. this is of Brian Jonestown Massacre fame favorite album. I always thought it was the sSatqnic Verses by the Stones. But this is it. This is the sound he's been trying to perfect. Because Donovan does psychedelia so much better than the stones. Keep in mind that I love Majesty. & think it's highly underrated. I mean c'mon these songs are all time greats. But this album is even better. whereas the stones were always a bit of an awkward fit for psychediale, Donovan is not surprisingly a natural. He was born to play this kind of music. Just like the stones were born to play the bluesy rock. [First added to this chart: 06/07/2017]

Jimmy was given a choice in the mid 60s. Go to America where he would be one in a million. Or come to England and stand out. Despite the legend. Despite the generally accepted story. He went to England and made a mostly generic soul album that side;t make a mark. That didn't stand out. It's a GOOD soul album with some dynamite tracks. many of which would be recycled for his far superior follow up album Jimmy Cliff aka Wonderful World, Wonder People.

No Jimmy had to go back home oddly enough to stand out. Back to his original producer and musical soul mate Leslie Kong to stand out. You see Hard Road To Travel is not a reggae album He only half listened and made a soul album. And thus didn't stand out.

Closest approximation to the sound of the Mellow Zone in 1965. . Because Tim Hardin likes it ll - Soul, folk, R&B, As long as its mellow. It's amazing that he can tackle all these genres successfully. Yet, he's best at the folk rockers for sure. Bittersweet songs such "Reason To Believe" One of the best songs about denial and self delusion that you'll ever find. [First added to this chart: 08/12/2017]
