"The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady is a tense, passionate, fierce album that deals directly with the personal chaos Mingus found in his love life. It is a meticulously composed, multi-layered triumph that continually announces its motifs through a hefty series of deft variations, continually build..." [More] Reply

"24 August 2013 - This is just about as perfect as it gets. This album just feels good, natural, real and off the cuff. At the same time it is perhaps the most beautifully varied set of songs Dylan ever put out. The break up songs, the social songs, the love songs, the talking blues songs, the blu..." [More] Reply

"So this is where it all started with ten of the songs recorded in an eleven hour session. It features their two singles up to that point, love me do and the title track. The other standouts from Lennon-McCartney are the rollicking opener, I saw her standing there and the beautiful and overlooked ..." [More] Reply

"All time classic. Yes it's great. Obviously, it's James brown live. But it's not the best live album ever. In fact I'd rate it his 4th best live cd. So please please please (ahem) consider checking out his other classic live CDs like love peace power in Paris and the Dallas one. For me two of the..." [More] Reply

"To me by far their worst album. Songwriting wasn't as sharp and covers weren't as good. Three good songs (It' Won't Be Long, All I've Got To Do, and All My Loving), but rest are just fillers and b-sides." Reply

""Night Beat" from 1963 is considered one of Sam Cooke's best albums. Since the album does not contain any of Cooke's hits or best known songs, the cause of the album's reputation is rather achieved through its overall casual late-night blues mood. Cooke has written three of the twelve songs, and ..." [More] Reply

It was reported Mingus left before the album was complete as it was agreed by all three artists to collaborate, however, Ellington tended to have things done his way to the displeasure of Mingus. Regardless, it sounds great, and one of the better playi..." [More] Reply
