It is a meticulously composed, multi-layered triumph that continually announces its motifs through a hefty series of deft variations, continually build..." [More]

"24 August 2013 - This is just about as perfect as it gets. This album just feels good, natural, real and off the cuff. "What a great album ! (ok it is not Revolver or Abbey Road, but it is really great for a debut) . No weak track in here, and the best tracks are I Saw Her Standing There, Please Please Me and the cover song they made famous, Twist And Shout"

"To me by far their worst album. Songwriting wasn't as sharp and covers weren't as good. Three good songs (It' Won't Be Long, All I've Got To Do, and All My Loving), but rest are just fillers and b-sides."

"A miracle. The voice of Cooke is prodigious and this album is his peak. Listen "Lost and Lookin'" or "Get Yourself another Fool" and take care with your spine and heart. Jerry Wexler said: "Sam Cooke was the best singer who ever lived, no contest. When I listen to him, I still can't believe the t..." [More]
