A really varied selection of songs that really helps Father John Misty bounce back from “Chloë and the Next 20th Century”. “Screamland” is utterly sensational and amongst the best songs of the year for me.

Comforting follow up to 'Nurture" that turns up the more mainstream pop ideas of the previous album and reduces the experimental ones to make an inferior, albeit very good, album.

While fantastic, Bonny Light Horsemen’s previous record “Rolling Golden Holy” felt slightly safe and shackled. Well, the shackles are off here and boy do they use their freedom well. Ragged guitars and energetic choruses add a new layer to their already beautifully grounded folk sound. One of the highlights of the year.

A nice meet in the middle between Americana and classic rock. Can feel a tad tamed and restricted vocally in parts, but the instrumentation really doesn’t. Sounds very much inspired by Neil Young in a lot of it's instrumentation, especially on "Change Is In The Form".

Another great album from Arooj Aftab with many highlights. You have the sinister sounding poetry that is “Bolo Na”, the calming introduction to the record that is “Aey Nethin” and the soothing closer in “Zameen” that perfectly encapsulates the album's atmosphere. Brilliant stuff.
