Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 10% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.9/100, a mean average of 87.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.2.

A bit too bad that after the top 10 it suddenly turns into your usual BEA chart. Makes me doubt whether you actually are passionate about those albums, or that you just listened them once because they're recommended by this site and you thought "that's not bad indeed". But the top ten looks interesting enough, expand that.
Tons of great semi-niche rock albums featured on this chart. I immediately feel a personal connection to anyone else who likes Van Der Graaf Generator.
Great chart! Particularly like the inclusion of Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil, Andrew Hill's Point of Departure, After Bathing at Baxter's, Animals and Kenny Dorham's Afro-Cuban.
Unique choices
Nice list! A lot of stuff I haven't heard, but I will definitely check out. Honestly I didn't notice 10% of my chart was Fall Out Boy until you pointed it out. They are one of my favorite bands, but maybe I should cut back on the chart....
Some amazing choices ranging from all time classics to underrated gems. What an amazing chart with a beautiful top 20.
Well done!
Plenty of big hitters, like me there is plenty of canon fodder but these are classic albums. Lovin' Mogwai, Scary Monsters, Sketches of Spain, and Elvis' first album. Good variety of decades. I liked this chart but sorry I can't get into prog so your number one fails to move me. Only prog I love is Pink Floyd. I also like King Crimson's debut and Hawkwind and Van der graaf Generator but don't know if the latter two are prog or had their roots in prog or not. Still 18 albums in common. Good work!
100% just for the surprise of Blind Faith and Magical Mystery Tour
really good taste bud :)
it's funny, looking at the how high each album is ranked on the site, your chart almost perfectly mirrors the main chart's progression. you rarely have any albums placed higher than an album with a higher overall rank on this site. It could use some individuality to it
