Great band! My personal favorite, Their greatest stuff would be from 1975-1983ish with the albums Fleetwood Mac (1975), Rumours, Tusk, and Mirage. Tango in the night is ok and Behind the Mask and Time are HORRIBLE but they probably agree so... yeah. The Peter Green/Bob Welch era stuff is great as well and so is the album Kiln House. 2003s Say You Will is pretty cool but would be better with Christine Mcvie!
"Rumours" is a masterpiece. "Tusk" is great as well. Love Buckingham's, Nicks' and McVie's voices
have to say that the Peter Green incarnation will always be my favourite but the Buckingham / Nicks variety did some great stuff. Often overlooked though is music that Mac did between these two incarnations. Led by Bob Welch, they did some great albums (check out Mystery to Me & Penguin). 3 versions, all great in their way.
junodog4gtroda is right... Fleetwood Mac had many incarnations. I appreciate the Peter Green led Fleetwood Mac and the Fleetwood Mac of the 70s superhits much more than the post 1980 garbage. I guess it's asking alot to expect bands to remain consistently good, especially ones with as much internal strife as Fleetwood Mac. The turmoil made them great, but made them inconsistent.
gtrodaHard to rate this band due to so many different lineups. I am a fan of the Buckingham-Nicks version.
