Albums You Added To Your Collection Today

Romanelli · 2011-12-28T19:13:10-05:00

Today was a great day musically...added 3 new titles to my collection, a total of 5 discs. Three discs, 102 tracks consisting of everything Johnny Cash ever recorded for Sun Records, including alternate takes and unreleased material. Plus a nice big booklet with lots of pics and liner notes. Been wanting this for some time now...FINALLY got around to getting it! The debut album plus 8 bonus tracks! What music did you get today?

Down To Earth

Had an mp3 splurge:

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson

Live At The Apollo by James Brown

At Last! by Etta James

Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music by Ray Charles

Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music Vol. 2 by Ray Charles

(Ray Charles came as one album and 2 extra tracks)

Moanin' In The Moonlight by Howlin' Wolf

And a compilation by Sam Cooke called 'Legend: The Sam Cooke collection' with 96 tracks in it.

I got some bargain prices. For some reason James Brown is £1.79 on Amazon UK. It's the one titled At The Appollo. Bargain!

That's a pile o' classics right there. I'm particularly fond of the Etta James myself.

Couple of gaping omissions on the shelves now filled:

Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt

Red/green label repress

Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) by Wu-Tang Clan

Repress I guess

As well as:

Beaucoup Fish by Underworld

All to go with a couple of shiny new audio toys I bought myself earlier... but more on that elsewhere
