Agreed. The band has been hinting at a surprise show in Montreal, maybe next week as they are currently in NYC. I will be watching closely!
The new Sada Baby album is absolutely wild. He was already one of the most exciting and unique rappers working, but he really levelled up here in terms of the unpredictability and versatility of his flows and cadences. Flashes of E-40 and Drakeo and DMX and Young Thug, but always distinctly Sada and always distinctly Detroit. Probably also worth mentioning that this crop of Michigan rappers who have broken out in the past three or four years have the best collective sense of humour in hip-hop. Anyway, this is the best rapping Iโve heard in 2022 by some distance.
Not sure how others feel about this one, but I was actually surprised upon listening through how much I loved it. Might be my favorite Charli record so far. I think the sellout spin works because it also feels like a big "fuck you" to Atlantic, finally giving them what they want as she's walking out the door. A lot of winks and layered irony baked into the production, especially from the samples she pulls. Plus it's also just a very well-written pop record - great hooks, lyrics, and production.
If You've never listened to Fucked Up, listen to this short album as the perfect introduction. It's a collection of singles and rest material from David Comes To Life but gives the perfect view of how they sounded at their best. The voice of the singer is one of the most original possible marrying death metal throatiness with melodicism and also the songs sound at the same time dangerous/forceful and melodic and match the best they already released: nearly everything is a highlight here. And last but not least the general sound just reminds me of Hรผsker Dรผ at their top.

Denzel Curry's new album was good. Didn't hit the heights I expected, but it was good. Happy with it.
The Buffalo scene is at the top of the world right now. New records from Benny & Conway are incredibly strong (especially Conway's).
Your Old Droog's got a solid (but short) release out too. (YOD WAVE)
Destroyer's new album is neat. Had this drunk rambling vibe I kinda enjoyed. Instrumentally, it was slightly odd though (sadly).
Rosalia's track where she samples/covers Burial is pretty awesome.
I like what Koffee's doing, but I also kinda don't.
New Binker & Moses is nice, but a bit too minimal/flat. Still, nice stuff.

Fantastic doom LP from Italy. Traditional but also modern, not too heavy yet undeniably stoner, atmospheric and psychedelic. Clean vocals. Diverse and exciting riff fest, one hell of a frontwoman, and it doesn't feel too long even at >1hr runtime.
