""Upstairs at Eric's" is one of the best albums of all time, but this one is outstanding as well. The only track I don't like that much is "Happy People", which - regardless of the lyrics - is not really that great of a song. It's OK, but the North American version has "State Farm" instead, which ..."  [+]  Reply

"Painted from memory, is an ambitious collobaration with celebrated songwriter Burt Bacharach, but Elvis Costello does admirably, especially vocally, it's probably his best vocal performance of his career. Lyrically, he's on form, but sometimes the lyrics sound a bit too clever for their own good...."  [+]  Reply

"Add off the wall horns and industrial sounds to great beats and bass, and you have something very special in this album. I also noticed some fine guitar playing from Charlie Hunter, and jazzy on "Music and Politics". The music is well put together and intriguing throughout. Intelligent and insigh..."  [+]  Reply

"This is one of those records where I feel a strange kinship with anybody else who loves it. Like, if you love this record I trust your taste and I want to share a pint with you. I mean, it's also cool if you don't love this record, but -to quote McConaughey in Dazed & Confused - it'd be a lot coo..."  [+]  Reply

"Recorded before his stint in Pentangle this is a folk album. Most of the cuts are not written by Mr. Jansch but traditional in origin. A nice record when your in the mood for such music."  Reply

"The awesome power of the fully operational Messengers on display on this killer album. Lee Morgan had become an uncontainable monster by this point and is just ridiculously good here. The songwriting of Shorter and Timmons makes this one of the best Messengers albums to my ears; the tempos and th..."  [+]  Reply

"This is just a beautiful David Gray album, cold and stark and meticulous with great piano melodies and quick-hitting lyrics. The glacier on the front is a perhaps representation of the mood of the album."  Reply
