"Haha, this was my first Prince album. I guess that's maybe a little pathetic, but come on, I was a kid, I didn't give a fuck about Prince. I did like Batman though, that is the most nostalgic movie ever for me. This was and still is a good soundtrack, it's not one of his best albums but it's good..."  [+]  Reply

"This is a stripped-down, acoustic album with complete dedication to simplistic folk-tunes and some acoustic rock elements. The lyrics, even if you are not a native speaker, are the highlight. But up front is Shakira's beautiful voice. In my opinion, her voice peaked on this album and has never so..."  [+]  Reply

"A typical Roots release - conscientious lyrics, strong tone, excellent beats, not over-produced. This one isn't as much a standout as Phrenology, How I Got Over or Things Fall Apart, but it's still top shelf."  Reply

"Really brilliant album. While her fantastic originals are missed, the choice of covers is superb, and as expected from Nyro they are interpreted, arranged and performed excellently and with great emotion. The inclusion of the Labelle singing trio really lifts the album up too. Highlights include ..."  [+]  Reply

"This album incorporates elements of various influences without overwhelming the bands overall musical identity. The following artists come to mind: Neu, Joy Division, Sisters Of Mercy, Ministry, Killing Joke and Suicide. The music is genuinelly unsettling. Key track: Circles."  Reply
