""Don't Take My Sunshine Away" is a serious contender for the best Mark Linkous composition. There's some other great songs here, like "Some Sweet Day" and "Knives of Summertime," but the rest is not up to Linkous' usual standard. Bit of a different feel from past records, too. Get this one last."  Reply

"I saw this band live: a beautiful and mesmerizing experience! I was so impressed that I had to get one of their records. However, it's been a kinda let down: it just seems that their music works better live. At least so far: I will have to give this album some more tries."  Reply

"Super underrated album, especially on this site. I didn't really hear anyone making this type of music when this came out in 2001. The closest would probably be Rival Schools. I guess it would be considered post punk. It sounds more modern now than it did when it was released. If you haven't hear..."  [+]  Reply

"'Waking Hours' is what many consider to be Del Amitri's true debut album. Released four years after their post-punk debut, 'Waking Hours' introduced the very Wallflowers-like alternative sound the band is famous for, as well as some of Del Amitri's most well-known singles. Everything on this albu..."  [+]  Reply

"Thomas Newman's scores are amazing, reminds me somewhat of David Amram scores of the late 50s. I think that he is the nephew of Alfred Newman, the famous composer who wrote the soundtrack to "How Green was my valley",1941 Film by John Ford.. in my opinion, one of the greatest scores eve..."  [+]  Reply

"Oh my god, what a great rock opera that’s concise, doesn’t overstay it’s welcome an, most of all, is fun! Interesting twist within and one of the most enjoyable first listens I’ve had from an album in a bit. Highly, highly, highly recommend!"  Reply

"Definitely experimental. Surrounded by the Stars drags you in because it is awesome and the vocals are intense. It's their version of a straight forward album and it works great. I love it."  Reply
