Un disco che sa di anni novanta e che quindi può apparire un po' fuori tempo ma che è degno del capolavoro del gruppo di undici anni prima. Gruppo per modo di dire visto che gli Sparklehorse erano sostanzialmente Mark Linkous. La sua musica non era solo triste e tormentata: si apriva spesso a squarci ritmici che le facevano emanare addirittura allegria. Non nell'ultima canzone di questo disco, la più lunga, la più cupa: impossibile non pensare alla sorte del suo autore ascoltandola, impossibile rimanerne indifferenti.

"Don't Take My Sunshine Away" is a serious contender for the best Mark Linkous composition. There's some other great songs here, like "Some Sweet Day" and "Knives of Summertime," but the rest is not up to Linkous' usual standard. Bit of a different feel from past records, too. Get this one last.
