"A delicious concoction of funkadelic madness, and Earthly connection. Cymande's print has been planted firmly onto the sounds of great music since their emergence in the 70s. A timeless sound."  Reply

"Bomb Squad produced 2 tracks on this, Prince Paul did 2 and the rest was Sam Sever with the band. Great record and the first time we got to hear MF Doom (Zev Love X) on Gas Face. They rip into Hammer on that track and further down the line the lads ran into serious trouble because if it. My favou..."  [+]  Reply

"Sounds that you find scary at first, might become your dark friends one time. You start to learn how to interact and how to feel in their presence. I don't even know what halfaxa means, but it has become a close friend of mine. We spend a lot of time just sitting on a hill and watching the dark s..."  [+]  Reply

"Average album. Best 10 songs average is 71,7/100 and the album can get average 70/100. Ok I'm not very fan of R&B, so this music generally gets no high rating. And I also don't like such "screaming" female soul voices. However best songs are "Superwoman" and "The thing about love" both average 75..."  [+]  Reply

"Much more quiet than his VdGG songs. PH was good at determining which songs were more intimate and deserved to be released solo and which deserved the full group treatment and should be played by VdGG. Mostly guitar based album. Stands alone, this album sounds nothing like any other PH offering. ..."  [+]  Reply

"This is probably one of his single greatest shows when taken as a full set start to finish, but there are a few sloppy moments here and there (more so on disc 1). Most songs here have better performances elsewhere (except Star Spangled Banner and Foxy Lady, I'm fairly sure this has my all time fa..."  [+]  Reply

"Astonishing guitarist, brilliantly unorthodox singer, and solid songwriter Dean Wareham leads his band in this Velvet Undergroundesque album. A fun listen from start to end."  Reply

"Another amazing record. Follow up to A Piece of Strange the following year. I'd describe the sound as being lighter than its predecessor. Notable songs: Valley of Death, K.K.K.Y., Georgia, Gun, & Dirty Acres."  Reply
