Its hard to evaluate the music separate from the movie it was made for (which is exceptional), but I still feel like it stands on its own as a strong album. Intensely vulnerable songs.

For a long time, this was my favorite album of all time. It has since dropped to lower denominations, but that shouldn't disparage how special this album is. While I love the film it is for (it's my favorite movie ever made,) this stands alone as a collection of songs that talk about starting once more, about rebuilding from the ashes, and trying to reconcile the past. It's about aches and pains, and what it takes to get over. This is an album filled with excellent song after excellent song. Go check it out.
