Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.0/100, a mean average of 74.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

Not very different from CSN or CSNY. Usable for background and Sunday mornings
Aunque la mayoría de los discos de Graham Nash me parecen excelentes, quizás este sea mi favorito.
His best solo release but prefer his album w/ Crosby.
I pulled this album up today, along with the other three albums released by the members of CSNY following the release of Déjà Vu, because they all appear to be acclaimed and After The Gold Rush was the only one of the four I'd heard.
I do not understand the praise for this album, since the bulk of the album features Nash whinily singing songs of self-pity over mostly hokey or ugly backing and production, occasionally switching to politically-charged songs that are no less nauseating.
I only give it a 55 because of "Sleep Song".
Acquired this in a collection of LPs I bought from a buddy. Never heard it before and was very pleasantly surprised. Nash is greatly underrated as a songwriter.
Forgot how much I liked this album, one of the true classics of the 70s..."Chicago" was the hit single from this, but "I used to be a King" was the track that AOR played and it is one of my all time favorite album tracks. It could have easily fit on a CSNY album. This album has so many good songs from "Sleep Song" to 'Military Madness" to "Chicago", I would definitely recommend this to any CSNY fans.
