A period piece, sounds like dozens of bands we heard at mixers and free concerts and so forth, playing "Gloria" and "Hey Gyp" and so on, a bit dark and a bit boomy, and the monitors maybe could have been better.
Only these guys were really good and for all its low budget archaic sound, it stands up great. And at least three of these guys wound up with mentions in the in depth history of the music; footnotes to be sure, but real connections-- Buffet, Velvet Undergound, and Norah Jones.
I listen to this several times a year and am always happy I did. They'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands-- it is coming to the nursing home with me.
