Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.8/100, a mean average of 80.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.5.

I wish I could have seen this performance live, a big regret. The music is excellent but of course we can't see the performance which would only add to the listening experience.
Amazing live album the "2nd & 3rd Acts" are brilliant Act II expands the story behind the Ninth Wave and improves on the original! She sounds good her voice has grown deeper so there is nothing here from her first 4 albums but the versions of Top Of the City & Neve Be Mine have been improved upon, and the cheer that erupts during the first few bars of Running Up That Hill is spine tingling.
Thought I'd left a comment. As awesomeness said, it sounds amazing. Put this album into your cd player, ihope you still have one, and do it after playing the big things current album. Yep, it's volume is massively low in comparison. There is a reason for this. Well done to all involved for actually caring. The music is obviously great too.
A stunning live album where all three acts are of a very high quality. Act I runs through a handful of hits / fan favourites which are all great ("King of the Mountain" is simply stunning) although the songs from "Hounds of Love" lose some energy, which is fair enough since it's almost 30 years after they were released. Act II is an excellent recreation of "The Ninth Wave" which proves to be utterly transporting and Act III is a gorgeous recreation of "A Sky of Honey" with two excellent encore tracks: "Among Angels" & "Cloudbusting".
The main flaw here is that since "Before The Dawn" is more similar to theatre / performance art than a standard concert, the live album loses some power because you can't see all the effort put in for the stage like the fabulous set-pieces; you're constantly left wondering what the live recreation of a certain track would be like. I would've also liked to hear other songs such as "Love and Anger". However, these are all minor quibbles and "Before The Dawn" stands tall and is a glistening jewel in Kate Bush's discography.
Most of these songs are from Hounds of Love and Aerial so it has many great tracks. Also the production and audio is absolutely flawless. Really digging this. I have to start listening to Kate Bush more.
A staggering achievement.
Un gran álbum en vivo del regreso de Kate Bush a los escenarios, la producción, los músicos, los coros y la voz de Kate suenan geniales aquí, es grato escuchar canciones como King Of The Mountain o Running Up That Hill en su versión más rockera.
