Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 84.8/100, a mean average of 83.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

This is just an incredible album, Kate Bush manages to meld so many different influences and sounds to create a truly wonderful album. The track 'Cloudbusting' is probably my favourite song of all time.

The first half is amazing, the second half falls a little flat.
The first three tracks could carry any album, but the rest isn't even bad, rather good even. A couple tracks near the end are difficult to get into, and for some the proper context is needed to be able to enjoy - which (let's be honest) means they're not so great tracks. "Under Ice" is a perfect example of this; it gets so much better when you hear that it's about her dreaming that she sees herself under the ice while she's skating on it completely alone, the pure horror. But without that knowledge it's a strange, but interesting track that sounds more like a piece of classical music than anything else, and is easily forgotten. So I'd say that it pays off to look into the story she's putting together in the second half, in the right context it nearly becomes a religious experience, but I'm generally against art that needs an explanation. The first half speaks for itself and is completely genius.
I love side A. Side B didn't appeal as much.
No he terminado el disco. No es para mi.
Side A is absurdly good, Side B might be too much for me to fully get but still mad props
This is one of thr best produced albums I've ever heard. Kate does an amazing job of building tension and joy. The second half which is a mini concept of being stranded and drowning, explores so many musical concepts in a short time. Big Sky is a personal favorite for the building of layers and pure fun in the music.
As inserções folks são magistrais! Grande obra!
As far as I can recall, I have listened to this album in its entirety exactly one time, somewhere in 2011-2012, immediately rejected it and never looked back. So, I thought it might be a good idea to give it a second try. Sound-wise it's all over the map (just check Jig of Life), there is something here for everyone. Overall, though, this was an album of two halves. First five tracks were kinda ok, but I can't say I managed to connect with them in any special way. On the other hand, And Dream of Sheep signifies the beginning of a great sequence of tracks, where lyrics and music combine to create some mesmerizing imagery.
