Il mio disco preferito del 1996 fu questo esordio freschissimo, pieno di creatività, vitale delle Cibo Matto, due giapponesi con base a New York. Solo da quella città poteva in effetti arrivare questo insieme frenetico ma non caotico di hip-hop e tocco nipponico, improvvise esplosioni quasi punk ed eteree melodie morriconiane, suoni campionati e strumenti suonati; la scusa del progetto, poi, è il cibo e, fin dal nome del gruppo, sono molti i riferimenti all'Italia.
Easily the funnest, most demented & illest trip hop album ever made. Viva! La Woman Is to trip hop what Paul Boutique was to rap. A breath of fresh air.
