After the Party is the fifth album by the Menzingers. It was seen as a return to form after the disappointing Rented World. Fans really adore After the Party, but the songwriting is severely lacking in this set, particularly in Bad Catholics. The twee-nature of the lyrics and the overly-nostalic nature of the project just doesn't make it absolutely essential. It's all in fun.
Track Pick: After the Party
Dec17. Clearly my top LP of 2017 (by a long way). So, now if I had to pick a Top10 from 2000 onward, 2 LPs from these guys would come up straight away (& a 3rd not far behind). I love every song. Nostalgic lyrics, great story telling all with great playing without overdoing it… just like The Clash. 5+/5.
