I just couldn’t get into this album unfortunately
Amazing album from Future Islands. Crystal Clear production from John Congleton, phenomenal synth and bass work that propel the tracks forward and who can forget the majesty of Sam Herring's vocals. The live drums they've incorporated on this album give it a beefier and more bombastic feel which I enjoy a lot. Very underrated album and the best of the year so far in my humble opinion.
A delightful recycling of 80's post-punk with a whisper of 90's post-rock editing, all sung by refreshingly persuasive male vocals. Cave is a really great tune worthy of the 4AD legacy.
Sounds great. I haven't heard anything else from them; but this is awsome.
The Future Islands sound starts to get a bit repetitive but it is, nonetheless, a very enjoyable album.
