Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.4/100, a mean average of 73.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

Lyrically this album is so sad as he tells of death , loss and suffering .It reminded me so much of the heartbreaking 'A Crow Looked At Me' album by Mt Erie .
It took a few listens but I've eventually decided this album is ok , there's definitely enough here to enjoy .Unfortunately the incredibly depressing lyrics are just too much for me , puts me into a downer .
On a brighter note there is a hidden gem on this album , a 2 minute track coming in the form of track 6 'Car' . I've always loved the 2 minute gem and this ones a cracker . If you don't listen to the album at least check out CAR , its completely wonderful .
One of the best albums of the year hands down. Between Cams gut punching emotional lyrics, the bands beautiful melodic sound this makes for an amazing album. some cool things happening on this record as well like when Cam sings into his guitar pickups through a guitar pedal on "first left from St Sean" to give it that cool effect.....gave me chills when I saw Cam do it live. Cant say enough about this band

Powerful passionate album musically and lyrically. Emotionally honest and earnest, it's like I can feel the heart and soul that went into this. This will be on my regular rotation for a while.
