Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.5/100, a mean average of 69.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 8.5.

What happens when you make a grand statement and have the experience to back it but fall into the lake of the null and void? Never to be seen or heard? No scream to the alien shadows above persisting they know why those people are protesting Wall St and spend their millions to become the spokesperson to them... you know, the stuff that makes you livid? Well the answer is not much, not much will happen if The Futureheads were here or not. I'll enjoy Kate Bush as much as I do right now and Liam Gallagher will groan on while Nicky Wire sprinkles his glitter over Welsh choirs and rock N Roll manifesto's. Enough! Today I'll tell you about that average dull as dish water band you may have thought these guys were. 'Stop The Noise' is a futureshock and fist in the frigid mouth of Facebook society thats gone fu... well too dependent on technology. Real vibes of The Jam on this one... if The Jam really walked the walk. The guys that bring 'The Chaos' look little different from those down Tesco. They don't have to wear the safety pins and stick parrots on their heads either side of that mohawk. 'Struck Dumb' and 'I Can Do That' are ballads of rebel induced brainwaves which many young people can relate to. 'The Connector' has that happy robot woah-stop-woah-start you find from these guys. Their own unique charm so to speak. 'Heartbeat Song' also has one of their trademark cream of the crop choruses over what deserved to be the lead single. It was. Got somewhere I suppose. Hmm... I could describe the album more but no. Listen to it and leave your dodgy 1% esque assumptions in a box. Labels are for soup cans. I'm done.
