This is an "angular, edgy" female-fronted noisy/angry post-punk band, not quite "riot grrrl," but not too far off from that aesthetically. It sounds a bit like what we might have had if the guys from Joy Division had hired Corin Tucker to be their singer instead of Ian Curtis, taken lots of amphetamines, and then hired Steve Albini to produce them instead of Martin Hannett. It's a good post-punk album, and frankly underrated, but I'm still glad THAT didn't happen.
