Honestly, this is very overrated. There are a few tracks I can enjoy, like Jocelyn Flores or Fuck Love, but as an album, this is way to short and cringe. It feels unfinished and even do it's only 22 minutes long I was bored most of the time.

XXXTENTACION was being famous in the media, and not always for the good reasons: brawl at his concerts, the fact that he is hiting his pregnant girlfriend, the beefs with other rappers including Drake, the very strange Cypher XXL... "17", rapper XXXTentacion's debut album, is deafened and numb by pain, trauma and controversy. X release a sad album, really sad, too sad. The poor recording quality accentuates the "lo-fi" side of the album. I do not hate X, on the contrary, I think he really has talent, but this album is really not terrible. The main negative point of this album is that it's too short. 21 minutes for a LP ? wtf.

I prefer "Revenge", but this is also short and sweet. Not great, but not bad by any means.

This guy has talent and the capability of making good music. It's a shame he seems to be such a shitty person.

I don't find the music particularly moving, but it feels very sincere and brave. Rappers don't release a 22 minute album of 2-minute lo-fi indie songs for the radio airplay, to be sure. This feels for the most part to me a sincere message. I don't think that it deserves the surprisingly low rating it got; I would wonder how much those people made their decision based off of the music alone

Mellow rap with cold, muddy instrumentals.
Decent project but being 22 minutes long, it leaves a lot to be desired.

A compact album that unleashes a vortex of depression and sadness. XXXTENTACION deftly manages a mixture of genres, veering from piano ballads to alternative R&B to trap, in under 23 minutes with a surprising amount of success. A painful listen yet it's undeniably good music.
