Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.4/100, a mean average of 66.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 66.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

This record is the threshold Owens' transition from traditional honky tonk to the guitar and drum driven "freight train" sound. So it's only fitting that it's the first studio LP to add the tagline Buckaroos.
The album is named after the #1 smash single that held the top spot interchangeably. Together Again and My Heart Skips a Beat remain paramount in Owens' entire recording career.
Also working to the record's advantage is the exclusion of instrumentals and novelty songs sung by instrumentalist Don Rich and bassist Doyle Holly.
Owens was s singles artist in a singles era so so it was common to not put much thought went into each LP. Most selections are from various sessions from early 1963 to mid 1964. Save the Last Dance and Storm of Love are both from 1961 and they actually give the LP more depth by representing the unrefined honky tonk sound of Owens' early Capitol career.
This was a major step forward for Owens, Don Rich and the band. It's the single greatest moment Owens had on a single LP and it's a great start for anyone not familiar with Owens' music.
