Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 74.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.2.

Nicely produced. Sexy record. She's great!
With a background in singing jazz, indie and even prog metal, Kelela proves that she is not to be confined to one genre in her cocksure full-length debut Take Me Apart. Admittedly what I like most about the album is that it channels the best of late-nineties R&B production, but that’s not to say Kelela is a carbon copy by any means. I expect a lot of good things in the future.
Pretty good. Frontline and LMK are far and away my highlights
A electronic tinged r&b that show potential but isn't there quite yet.

Really good, track for track, but you could cut three or four songs here without missing anything. Otherwise, terrific songwriting--if a little samey--and even better production.
This debut is off the chain. Mixes the vast and engaging instrumentals from artist like Bjork and Boards while having a sensual and seductive R&B record. If Aaliyah was still alive, this is the record she would try to make. Most if not all of these songs were killer. Stand outs include Frontline, Enough, Jupiter, LMK, Truth or Dare, Blue Light and Altadena. Man lets hope she keeps going strong.
A sensual, deeply-felt record from Kelela that fuses traditional R&B stylings with more cutting-edge electronic production to a dazzling effect. "Take Me Apart" is cohesive yet also feels less "samey" than her previous work. Furthermore, the lyricism is great and her delivery is smooth and hits all the right spots.
This is a great record and one of the best R&B albums of the decade; with "Take Me Apart", Kelela has created a mountain for herself and is firmly placed on top of it. Let's hope that people look up.
What an incredible debut! Cannot wait to see how she evolves her sound.
