I prefer her work with David Lynch, but this mature pop offering is good enough, although it does drag a little.

Chrysta Bell's second studio album, her first without David Lynch producing the tracks, follows a more jazzy and chilled-out lounge sound compared to the (there's no better way to describe it) Lynchian aura of "This Train". Judging by "We Dissolve", Chrysta has succeeded in evolving and maturing as an artist.
There's still just enough resemblance to Lynch (think of Angelo Badalamenti's jazz-influenced work in the Fire Walk With Me soundtrack) for Twin Peaks fans to come from the show to this record and enjoy it, but "We Dissolve" is definitely its own thing rather than a Lynch byproduct. Chrysta's peerless delivery of her smartly-constructed lyrics give this record an enigmatic and seductive edge that her peers in this genre probably won't have. A worthwhile listen.
