There's a LOT of auto-tune being used on the vocals on this album; in fact it seems to be used throughout, as I'm not sure there's a point at which it isn't being used. It's distracting, at least at first - especially since I'm writing this in 2023 and the state of the technology in 2013-14 wasn't nearly as good as it is now, which just makes it all the more obvious. It gets less distracting about halfway through, however, once you get used to it. So... basically, if you hate auto-tune you won't like this album. If you don't hate auto-tune, the songs are actually pretty good, with a nice sort of gauzey, shoegazey-dreampoppy-ethereal sound on most of the tracks, not unlike the Cranes or Swallow (note that The Capsules were originally named "Shallow" and had to change it, I guess to reduce potential listener confusion.) And I wouldn't compare it to My Bloody Valentine at all - not enough distortion, so the only similarity is that two of the band members are named "Shields" (they're a married couple) and the other one is first-named "Kevin." But no relation to MBV for any of them, apparently.
