It's not old Fall Out Boy, there's still some enjoyment to be had here though... If you're a hardcore fan. This is one of those albums I know I only like because I like the band, if this was an Imagine Dragons record I'd tell you how garbage it is, but since it's Fall Out Boy I can't help but like it just because they have made some of my favorite music ever, I respect these guys, and if they wanna make modern radio music, I'll listen to it, and after MANY listens, I like this album, or at least most of it. So hardcore FOB fans, give it a try, anyone else, you probably won't like it.
From the cringeworthy lyrical content to the weak hooks and over the top production this is really nothing to waste your time on. Genuinely, some of these songs sound like a glorified theme song from the pokemon anime, and not in a good way (see "Champion".)
Ever since I heard the demo for Young and Menace on I Tunes, I thought this album would be trash. But after listening to the whole thing, I quite enjoyed it. There were qualities that speak to me in an instrumental level. As well as having a form of vibrato. I'm impressed. Who knows, I can understand if I turn off this record if I listen to their other albums but as of now, I quite enjoy this.
