Drawing inspiration from dream pop and krautrock in equal measure, Le Kov is a great record which deserves a more acclaim that it received. The wispy melodies drifting through the album are as delicate as they are beautiful, and Gwenno's vocals are reminiscent of Elizabeth Fraser - a comparison I'm sure the former would be pleased with. The Cornish lyrics only add to the mystery and wonder that this LP is drenched in. If you like the sound of Cocteau Twins playing Amon Düül II, then this is the album for you.

Superb album from ex-Pipettes member Gwenno - check this and her debut 'Y Dydd Olaf' out if you enjoy listening to bands like Stereolab and Broadcast.
A difficult sophomore record... what's that? The language may have changed to Cornish from the (mostly) Welsh of "Y Dydd Olaf", but the psychedelic magic and sense of urgency remains on "Le Kov", a more expansive record that marries synthy dream-pop and indietronica. Gwenno should be proud of what she has achieved here, and if there's any justice, this culturally significant record should expose her to a wider audience. I have a feeling people all over the world would happily eat this up, regardless if none of them understand Cornish.
