While it's not my favorite Neko Case record, this is still a really cool album. Beautifully produced, emotive and adventurous, and surprisingly prog-y. A little lackluster in the middle, but otherwise, a solid record.
Better than average. Her voice reminds me of Kirsty McColl and that's a really good thing. Some excellent tracks and some not so excellent. Halls Of Sarah is really good.

It took me a few listens but I'm there now ... this really is a good album
Opener and title track the Fiona Apple-esque "Hell-On" is great as is album highlight the wonderfully compelling duet "Curse of the 1-5 Corridor" and "Last Lion of Albion"
Unfortunately a couple of tracks don't work in the awful "Bad Luck" and lame closer "Pitch or Honey " ending things on a disappointing whimper , but the remaining tracks are more than solid
Overall this album just works and its going into my best for 2018 album list

Oh. My. God. Check out the way Neko fixed everything lacking in Eric Bachmann's "Sleep All Summer". It's an absolute heart breaker now. The highlight of another very good release from Ms Case. Repeated listenings required.
