Very atmospheric and relaxing, it can be just what the doctor ordered after a tiring and stressful day.

I liked this a lot when I first found it, and was just beginning to explore blackgaze (coming from the shoegaze end of the spectrum). However, after coming back to it, it just seems overly safe and simplistic from a production and songwriting perspective. I suppose it has some metal influence, but really all it that entails is being able to hear the drums clearly. I think i would consider it a mediocre shoegaze album now. I would recommend to anyone who likes where this is going to listen to Sunbather by Deafheaven. Ya, it has those screaming vocals that can be very off-putting for at least the first few listens, but it is really quite amazing music once you get past that part.
A maternal hypnotic chant, it leads you through surreal voyages. One of my favourite album.
if this is considered metal, then this is the best metal album of all-time.
Just really, really fantastic. Ethereal shoegaze and post-metal covering the entire realm of emotion. Something really hopeful is hidden within.
The perfect mix between Shoegaze and Metal.
Like biting into a giant piece of delicious shoegaze and then discovering an even tastier hint of metal within.

Beautiful album. Not sure what genre I'd call it, everything about it seems to indicate shoegaze, but when you dig deep, you find there's metal at its heart.
