Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.5/100, a mean average of 76.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.9.

Good album, There She Goes is wonderful. Only three weak tracks towards the end followed by Looking Glass which is a great closer and by far the longest track on the album. The rest of the tracks are short and sweet. Such a shame this was their only album.
Good 90s indie rock album, There She Goes and Looking Glass are amazing, Feelin' is very good and the rest is ok.

Wonderful! Pure delight. They had immense potential it's a shame this was their only album. I've compared them to the next REM but they were the first and only The LAs.

Great pop sensibility, Good

Fairly void of substance, but gratifying nonetheless. There She Goes is head and shoulders above the rest to be quite honest.
I own this. Need to give it another listen.

Widely regarded as one of the best "One Album Wonders" in modern music . It's hard to argue otherwise with that wonderful blend of guitar sweet pop hooks and undeniably not 1 but 2 perfect tracks in 'There She Goes' ( could it be about drugs ? "There she blows / There she blows again / Pulsing through my vein") and 'Way Out' . It hardly seems fair
Unfortunately its not perfect with a couple of WTF misfires in "I.O.U" ( "you must eat your porridge " - Yew ! ) and 'Freedom Song' (The Doors 'Alabama Song' anyone ??) spoiling a sweet broth
Legend has it that Lee Mavers to this very day isn't happy with the final (Steve Lillywhite) album and has vowed never to release another until this album is re-recorded to his satisfaction. Well Lee its 29 years and counting , remove 2 tracks and jobs done . Easy
Favorite Tracks:Liberty Ship

This is actually really fascinating in terms of the influences and different kinds of songwriting there are at the core of most of these songs. Also, you can definitely hear the Gallaghers riffing on this heavily throughout Oasis's career.
this should of been played more on the radio than it did this was great pop rock with hooks and harmony
