A quantidade de força que tem nesse álbum! Ganharam o mundo!
A finales de los 80 toda la producción metalera provenía bien de Estados Unidos o bien de Europa, quedándose con todo el pastel. Hasta que surgió Sepultura, abriendo la nueva vía del Metal sudamericano. 'Beneath the remains' es brutalidad en su estado más puro con el Thrash por bandera oficial y con los toques de Death que tanto caracterizaron a Sepultura durante su primera etapa. El disco es el primero firmado bajo un gran sello como Roadrunner de unos Sepultura que andaban anclados todavía en lo amateur, producido también por el mítico Scott Burns pero grabado en Brasil. No tiene ese halo de mítico que tiene 'Arise', pero era un buen comienzo para empezar la conquista del mundo metálico. Por lo que se cuenta, en la gira de presentación del disco, los brasileños se comieron por los cuatro costados a toda una institución como los alemanes Sodom.

If nothing else, speed metal has this very organized, clean direct sound that is impressive. Still not my thing.
