Elkland comes across as another 21st century purveyor of modern retro new wave rehash, a la The Killers. The band's synth-driven pop is infectious and hints of The Smiths, New Order and The Cure can be heard in their first album. The songs concern the prototypical teenage romance angle while retaining their danceability. The synthesizer is the driving force along with frontman/songwriter Jon Pierce's engaging vocals. A Promising start for this group. I haven't found anything else by this band, but I would like to.
