Probably one of the most creative and forward thinking instrumental hip hop albums of all time in my view. The use of sampling here is incredibly unique and creates an atmosphere that's sometimes desolate and dissonant but at other times incredibly beautiful. The way this album was designed to be listened to is on shuffle and with a crossfade of 5-6 seconds, which can be heard explained in the first track ♒Instructions if you listen closely. This creates an unexpected listening experience that can change each time and makes the replay value of the album much greater than you'd think.
I can't express enough how well the beats on this album work combined with atmospheric soundscapes and creatively sampled soundbites to make an incredible listening experience that is as unpredictable the 10th time you hear the album as it was the first time.
Essential listening for lovers of instrumental hip hop, plunderphonics, or even ambient.
