Dave Malloy's Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 is not only one of the finest pieces of musical theatre to date, but this cast recording is recorded with such mastery that it is a definitive archive of the musical. It is a complete recording of the entire show, and the mixing and mastering of the studio production is perfect. The arrangements and orchestrations of the songs are hypnotizing and beautiful, and it's a perfect dramatic ride from beginning to end.
