Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 46.5/100, a mean average of 44.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 44.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 25.2.

This album is terrible, it just sounds like the band have ripped off ideas from other songs and made them worse most of the time and the lyrics are some of the cringiest I have ever read/heard. Only thing that is stopping me from giving it a 5/100 is the short length

For my review proper of this stinking pile of doggy do scroll down (posted February 2020)
However, today I was checking out loudwire.com and what should I see? A headline article which proclaimed - “STUDY: GREEN DAY’S ‘FATHER OF ALL’ AMONG WORST REVIEWED ALBUMS OF THE CENTURY” the jist of it being some dude trawled meta critic and came up with a worst of list
I wont spoil the entire list but word to the wise this one one stunk it up at number 6 which pretty much says it all
Peace out
The title track is inoffensive. I don't like that he's altering his voice when that is the thing that sets the band apart, but whatever it's not as if it's particularly bad. Green Day has always been a bit too heavy on the "pop" in pop punk for my tastes, but I can get down to a lot of their classics. But after this passable opener, Father of All... devolves into some of the worst trash from any genre. Are they trying to appeal to 10 year old's? The rainbow vomiting unicorn on the cover would lead me to believe so. I can't imagine any other demographic listening to this unironically, even though Fantano see's it as boomer stadium rock. Honestly what were they thinking? "I was a teenage teenager" actually pisses me off doing such a downright repulsive and milquetoast rendition of something already done fantastically by acts like Rise Against or Propagandhi. I keep thinking the next song couldn't be as bad as the last, and am repeatedly blown away by the generic and cliche sounds and lyrics. It's just so cringy, and without any redeeming qualities.
Oct20. (In addition to my post above). The last two songs on the album have really grown on me and I love 'Take the Money & Crawl' now. :) After repeated listens, the singles have grown on me and I have decided in favour of 'Oh Yeah!'. Upping the score. 4/5
One of the worst albums I've ever heard. I would much rather listen to an album with features, swedish songwriters, and trap beats
Also what the hell is that album cover? It's literally just the American Idiot cover with a unicorn drawn on and the title of the album written on it. I'll give it this, it matches the album perfectly
I really like the Foxboro Hot Tubs vibe on some of the songs here. 'Fire, Ready, Aim' and 'Stab You in the Heart' certainly channel this sound. The title track had me wary with Billy's high and produced vocals, but has grown on me, and after seeing a live version on Howard Stern, I was sold. It is a fun song. 'Oh Yeah!' is another different sound for the band. I am still deciding on this one. 'Meet Me on the Roof' is a poppy, 60s sounding jive. 'I Was a Teenage Teenager' is a clever title with some nostalgic lyrics and a simple beat and melody, but not an outstanding song. 'Sugar Youth' is a cool, simple rocker. 'Junkies On High' is quite forgettable and I can't see it getting many plays from me. The last two songs sound a little like the pop-rock stuff I have been listening to lately and whilst fun, are not standouts. As a whole this album is bit over-produced in parts for my liking, but I like the simpler direction of the songs. I much prefer their Foxboro Hot Tubs' sounds than their emo, rock-opera efforts.

An abysmal excuse for an album. Green Day's been bad since Warning, but good God above. Even though it's barely long enough to be an actual album, anyone who gets through this should be given a standing ovation. Not gonna give it a zero, because at least I can laugh at it.
First four songs not good, but the album grew in intensity and I enjoyed it. My favorite Stab you in the heart.

It's not THAT bad
Green Day returns with their shortest and most polished album yet. The veteran pop punkers deliver an album carried forward mostly thanks to the lead single, Oh Yeah!, an anthem in classic Green Day-style. The rest, while energetic and true to their distinct style, is less impressive. The band has advertised the album as their shortest ride yet, and while that is certainly true, I wouldn't see that as anything to be particularly proud of.
The short songs on the album have very little interesting things to say lyrically and in terms of its sound, the LP sounds surprisingly safe and uninspiring for being produced by giants within the genre. Overall, Father of All... is perfectly acceptable, but nothing memorable or exciting.
